Hi , I am new here but not new to the autism community. I have three children my two youngerst have a diagnosis of mild autism my middle guy 14 is doing great, mainstreamed just has some trouble socially and very sensitive but doing well. My 10 year old little girl is struggling with some major ocd issues with germs she is always asking I touched this and it was sticky am i gong to get sick, it has gotten pretty bad lately. The doctor has her on very low zoloft 25 mg, but feels it needs to be increased because of her OCD. I amd feeling so sad right now. Just had a extended family outing and it was hard on me. My little girl was upset with lots of things and I wanted to crawl under the table with all the stares etc.. I am so mad that I am feeling sorry for myself, but I love my kids so much and have been throug so much. I keep everything inside and just needed to vent with people who understand.
Thank You anyone who is out there I feel so alone right now.

I hope this isn't out of line but I wil pray for you. My Aspergers son doesn't have OCD but he is socially challenged that going places can be hard. First, I would suggest maybe arriving late and leaving early. THis keeps from overwhelming everyone. Also, your daughter is something to be proud of and if people want to stare, a lot of times they either don't understand the situation or if they do, they are admiring you so dont take all stares offensively. Print up little cards to hand to people who don't know you and your daughter that says something like, " My daughter has OCD. For more infomation visit www._____________. (whatever website you recommend for them to get information concerning your daughters condition. That will usually stop the staring.
