The principal and/or assistant principal presides over in the Case Conference Meeting (the IEP meeting). This is not a good thing especially if the principal does not have any knowledge at all in what is taking place inside the classroom. In IN, the child with autism must not have any behavioral problems or else, he will be contained in the autism cluster or be confined in a room alone with the teacher and aide or aide only. The parents must keep on pushing for what is appropriate for their child with autism. This is what we experienced back in IN.
