Does anyone have information on finding group homes in Iowa. I have attempted to place my son twice with little success. Currently he's in a ICFMR but their letting his medical problems slide. It is ran more like a nursing home that a group home for young adults with disabilities. No laughter, no happiness, no activities. He wants to experience life, not come home from work and just sit. There are simple "NO LISTS" for group homes. Social services are no help. Using their advice I once placed him in "psych" for a month with the promise that it would expidite placement. I couldn't stand him being there anymore so I brought him home. I really could use some help.
